NAM Christmas Party Raises Funds for Air Ambulance
The Notts About Minis club held it’s annual Christmas party at the Broomhill pub in December 2023 raising an excellent £210 for the Air Ambulance charity – well done all!
A Day Out In Derbyshire – Minis on Tour
The Notts About Minis club recently enjoyed a day driving around the beautiful countryside of Derbyshire on a planned driving tour, keeping to schedule. Six various style minis left Nottingham at the Mour Hotel on Junction 27 of the M1, headed up to the A38 at Junction 28 coming off the A38 at Alfreton and cutting across towards South Wingfield to Crich Memorial Stand where members enjoyed coffee and cake as well as the sights from the tower. We then headed off to Whatstandwell and on to Wirksworth pausing briefly at the Knockerdown pub before crossing the Dam Road past Carsington Water and onto Turnditch for a lovely Sunday Lunch at the Tiger Pub. From there we headed down to Belper, pausing briefly for a photo next to the old mill and headed home again via Sawmills. We covered around 50 miles in 4.5 hours and a thoroughly good time was had by all.
Notts About Minis perform!
At Wollaton Park’s Nottingham Car Show 3 of our little 998cc minis were asked to take park in a performance on the main field with the Carlton Male Voice Choir to the massive crowd in the blazing sunshine. The cars performed two songs with the choir – the Blue Danube Waltz by Strauss and Eric Idle’s Always Look On The Bright Side of Life. The 3 cars beeped their horns and flashed their lights as conducted by the choir’s conductor and the crowd really enjoyed the spectacle pulling out their mobile phones to film this ONE OFF event, never attempted before. What a fabulous way to show off our cars to the public! The performance was captured on film, so see us having great fun performing on the link below.

Peter Roebuck (R.I.P.)
Notts About Minis Club are sad to hear of the passing of Pete Roebuck. He was a long standing member and attended many of our meetings. Pete was a great person to have a chat with, very interesting and knowledgeable about many aspects of cars and engineering. The Last Post was played in his honour at the Nottingham Car Show and can be seen on the link below. He will be sadly missed by us all. R.I.P. Pete.
